Your Self Esteem – 9 Simple Questions To Ask Yourself…

Do you have self-dependent esteem? What makes you think you have it?

This assignment is a catch twenty-two, because in a sense, you have to have some level of self-dependent esteem to admit you don’t have it. If your esteem was fully other dependent, you would have a hard time admitting to anyone — including yourself— that you may not have it all together! With that in mind, see if you can be honest enough with yourself to admit that you don’t have self-dependent esteem if that is true for you. See if you can identify the external criteria that is the source of your esteem.

Do you manufacture your own good thoughts about yourself that have nothing to do with what you have, what you know, who you know, what you do, and what you achieve?
Do you respect yourself from within just because you do?
Do you admire yourself for no particular reason?
Do you have good thoughts about yourself that have nothing to do with what others think about you?
Do you make good choices for you more often than not?
Do you believe in yourself?
Would you like to have someone like yourself as a best friend?
Are you someone who is “what you see is what you get” no matter what?
Are you happy with you just because you exist?

Take your time with this exploration. Remember there is no need to pretend you have self-dependent esteem if you don’t. You don’t have to worry about what someone else thinks. Self honesty is what matters most in moving forward.
