Finding True Happiness: The Need to Be Right

th2TV34S17 know it all annoyingAre you someone who has to be right? Are you someone who has to know it all? Do you argue a point to the nth degree in order to be right? Do you alienate even the best of friends to prove your point? Have you ruined a relationship or two because of your need to be right?

The attachment to being right is another manifestation of other-dependent esteem. The attachment to being right, just like the attachment to looking good, is grounded in the negative thoughts you have about yourself. When you have to be right all the time, you give yourself the impossible task of having to know it all. In other words, you have to know everything about everything. WOW! What an unattainable task you’ve given yourself.

The need to be right is a serious attachment. An extreme example of the need to be right occurs when nations go to war to be right! How about cultures that annihilate each other because the other culture is wrong? If you’d rather be right at all costs, your need to prove your worthiness is a glaring indication that you have no self-dependent esteem.

3. Others don’t know much of anything at all.

How important is it to you that everything turns out the way you think it should? Are you someone who worries about the way situations may or may not turn out? Does everything in its entirety need to turn out the way you think it should? Get your complimentary 1st chapter of Good With Me below to start making a change today.
