Make A Shift To Happiness Right Now!

Besides the many people who overmedicate and get into serious trouble with pain medications of all types, there are no doubt people with chronic illnesses who don’t want to take medications.

They never abuse them, but take them just to function. They rely upon them to feel good enough to simply get dressed and fix their breakfast. Yet for most, there is no happiness attached to this way of life either. In fact, this is an example of a situation in which thinking, when implemented with focused intent, can create a shift to inner happiness despite chronic illness and/or pain.

These individuals will have to learn how to focus on something other than their illness and/or pain. They will have to learn how to think themselves into feeling happy for real in spite of their illness/pain. Real happiness has nothing to do with pain. It has to do with thinking.

Methods to achieve real happiness in spite of physical or emotional pain are discussed in my book Good With Me. However, you can begin to make a shift to happiness right now. If you are someone who experiences emotional or physical pain, I want you to focus on anything and everything you currently have to be grateful for.

Perhaps someone special who provides love and care for you, a good neighbor, a pet, a bed to sleep in and a pillow upon which to rest your head, food to eat, a good book to read, a favorite television show to watch, a rainy day, a sunny day, the fact that you are alive and you exist. Nothing is too big or too small to put on your list. Start making your list now.
